Once again Eclipse has proved itself capable of delivering a seamless, first-class technical production for the world’s education sector at the Education World Forum in London.
It was the sixth year running Eclipse was hired to manage the technical production of the two-day event, but its first at the QEII Centre in Westminster and despite the new challenges this created, the event was a resounding success.
The brief was to provide a technical production solution that could allow for presentations and panel discussions to be delivered by more than 50 presenters, comprising of senior ministers and educational influencers. Eclipse was also responsible for providing ways for sponsors and exhibitors to promote their products and services in the break-out area, as well as ensure venue signage was clear and accurate around the venue.
With more than 500 delegates attending from across the globe and speaking multiple languages, Eclipse supplied a translation solution including the team of 14 translators, so all these delegates could take part in debates and understand all the presentations been given in the various languages.
To enable flexibility when it came to presentations and live demos from the stage Eclipse used the Analog Way Ascender seamless switching system, which enabled multiple inputs to be shown on screen at one time whilst also being able to show notes and slides with countdown timers on the comfort monitors for the presenters.
The biggest challenge came through the change of venue. For the first time in delivering the event, Eclipse was tasked with working with the venue’s in-house team. It also had to help delegates navigate a new venue which had meeting spaces located over multiple floors.
To overcome these challenges, Eclipse worked with QEII’s in-house team, managing them all as if they were one team to provide a seamless service. Extra signage was added to the in-house system to ensure all spaces were clearly visible to delegates.
Eclipse’s Project Manager, Jordan Nutsford, worked hard to ensure the Eclipse crew of 15+ and QEII’s in-house team worked effectively together to produce a technically perfect event, enabling attendees and presenters to have a worthwhile and enjoyable experience, which was hailed a success by the client.
