S&P Platts Awards

S&P Global Platts

Since its inception in 1999, the ‘Oscars of the energy world’ has had Eclipse at the helm of its show-stopping production, and despite the restrictions enforced by COVID-19, this label would certainly flaunt itself once more in 2020.

Priding ourselves on our exemplary client retention rate, we were delighted when world leading provider of analytics to the energy and commodities markets S&P Global Platts approached Eclipse once more to deliver its Global Energy Awards for its 21st year.

S&P Global Platts had a long list of requirements, including a need for live presentations with different presenters in six key time zones: New York, London, Singapore, Holland, Boston and Houston, as well as wanting winners to accept awards live during the ceremony. S&P wanted to make this the most prestigious virtual awards ceremony in the industry, making the 1,000 attendees feel like they were VIPs attending a physical event.

The Eclipse creative team encouraged the client to produce a full script showcasing what they wanted to deliver for each award and developed a pre-record strategy that would enable the awards to be delivered as if they were live. To deliver such a strategy and overcome the challenges, six global studio recordings were produced by Eclipse, with filming, lighting and also production support for speakers managed by the team to alleviate any demands on the client.

Platts Awards Lobby

Immersive 3D tailored content

Complemented by immersive 3D tailored content and choreographed videos, attendees were truly made to feel like they were attending a physical event, while green-screen backdrops broadcasting cityscape window graphics for each country were used to provide an effective virtual ambience.

The approach to delivering this event was all in the details. This was not just a standard template of an awards ceremony. The Eclipse creative team worked closely with the client to ensure the final product was as seamless and spectacular as possible, ensuring attendees felt they were at an actual physical event.

Platts Host

What they say

“Recreating a formal, black tie, awards show, with assigned tables, in a virtual environment is no easy task. Eclipse designed bespoke environments for the lobby, theater, networking lounge, gaming area, resource center and reserved tables that truly made attendees feel as though they were entering an elegant gala. They wove our branding into the fabric of the environment: our logo within golden frames on the walls, on the backs of computer screens in the resource lounge, on the poker table in the gaming room, on the beautiful centerpieces at the reserved tables. Each space felt like a room within the same venue. Eclipse created a beautifully branded space for our sponsored reception, including a dramatic metallic sculpture to replace the ice sculptures from our in-person event. Eclipse produced a high-energy, fast-paced, dynamic awards show video for us, seamlessly placing presenters from across the globe, a celebrity host, winner acceptance videos and more into one cohesive show. The uniquely talented team at Eclipse is tenacious about ensuring every detail is considered, and literally doesn’t rest until we are satisfied that we have created a truly superior and unique event each year for our attendees, whether virtual or in-person.”
